Betty says, "all that country is my father's country, going all the way back to Billimack Spring. He grew up in this
country and used to live out in the bush. He roamed this country as a kid until he was old enough to work on the
station. This is joowalinji (hills) country and darwirrinji (spring, living water) contry. Billimack Spring is good
water place, that's living water. There's one sharp hill called Jowagin standing up right near the spring [at the
centre of the painting]. There are a lot of stone tommahawk there for the old people.
