Nora Nagarra Rijal Country 2004
Natural ochre & pigment on canvas 1200 x 450mm SOLD
This painting shows the big hills close to Turner River Station, south of Purnululu. This is where Nora worked and
grew up. Not far from the station is a series of waterholes, featured in the bottom third of the painting. Nora
says, "I used to go here with my grandmother. We didn't got to school, just worked on the station. We used to go
hunting and take all the dogs and catch kangaroo (Jeering) and goanna (kanyarrany)".
