There is an old Tiwi story about that man Yirrikapayi who used to live at Cape Fourcroy. He used to make old
ceremonial spears. He jumped off the cliff and took his spears with him. He made such a noise his mouth turned
into a long snout and his spears became a tail. He became a salt water crocodile. We call him Yirrikapayi.
