Alick Tipoti Ariew Thurai Mabaig - Rain Caller 2006
Linocut 410x290mm image, 570x380mm $450
This particular member of a tribe has special spiritual connections with the Zugubal of their ancestors. He is a
powerful sorcerer. He is able to communicate with the Zugubal through two Madhub shown on each sides of
the print. He is the only one who can perform a ritual dance when requesting his people's needs, such as rain.
The first Madhub is used to call the rain, the second one is for sending it back up to the skies. Everything is
connected to the Zugubal.
