This painting is made from modelling compound and impasto gels on wood. It depicts the tracks around Tasmania
that the Aborigines made prior to the colonial years. The tracks give a lace effect depicting femininity and the
women in the tribe. The ochre colour is a reference to Manalargenna - the chief of the Cape Portland (Ben
Lomond) tribe. It also shows the spiritual connotation by the use of negative space.
