This painting represents the women performing a traditional ceremony. The circles are the sites where the
women are holding their ceremony. These circles may also indicate water or rock roles where water can be
found. The background lines represent the landscape in that particular area and can depict body paint designs
used for ceremonies. The women perform a traditional ceremony in honour of their Ancestors where they dance
and paint their breast, chest and forearms in ceremonial body designs. They also decorate their bosies with
feathers and dance with ceremonial objects such as nulla nullas (a fighting stick also used for ceremonial dancing).
