Ros painted this piece after a recent trip to Louisa Bay. It is a significant spiritual and protected place for Aboriginal people.
Ros was looking into the ocean and saw many plants and flowers under the water. It seemed to her that Pig Face was
growing under the sea which she had never seen before. ‘There were hundreds of different plants, all sorts. It wasn’t just
kelp, I’m not sure what they were. They just looked like the stars had dropped from the sky into the ocean.. It moved me so
much. I wanted to paint my experience as it overwhelmed me.’
