Charlotte Phillipus Napurrula Tjukurrpa for the Children 2007
Acrylic on linen 405 x 1220mm $715
Charlotte said this painting was like a fairystory for the children. The painting depicts the old men telling the
children a story about a Mamu (spirit) that is not meant to be taken seriously. All the children are sitting in a
circle around the old men listening intently. The mamu is represented by the two ‘X’ shape figures. The men are
the large ‘U’ shapes either end with their spears. The middle ‘eye’ shape is a man’s woomera (spear thrower).
