Liddy Napanangka Walker Bush Tucker 2002
Acrylic on linen 660 x 1016mm $2200
The story associated with this painting Liddy has inherited from her father Banji Japangardi and is of his country
around Mt How near Yuendumu. It is a mixed ceremony for the skin groups of Japanangka, Napanangka and
Japangardi. It concerns the collection and continuance of the bushtuckers sweet potato and budgerigar (mukaki).
Liddy's daughter explained to the art coordinator at Warumpi & Euan Hills from Art Mob that in fact this picture
is of women singing a songline as they travel to "find a man" - a randy bunch!
