Mitjili Napurrula Untitled 2001?
Acrylic on linen 615 x 1215mm $2200
This painting is a representation of the trees that provide wood for spears and other wooden objects as part of
Tjukurrpa, the women's side of the men’s spear straightening dreaming. Uwalki is the country where the trees
are found and is part of the country of the artist’s mother. The area around Kintore is rich in bush foods that
include seeds and berries as well as turkeys and kangaroos. The hills of Kintore are often painted in the
painting. This dreaming was taught to the artist by her mother.
