July 6 - 15 celebrating NAIDOC week.
The painting Connecting Spirits is the artist's interpretation representing the 9 Aboriginal artists who have been artists in residence at Art Mob's gallery in Hobart since its opening in April 2002. The 9 circles represent the 9 artists. The Green represents Art Mob in Tasmania and the close connections the Gallery has with the individual artist. The Brown is representative of Land. The spirit forms are representative of the spiritual connections Aboriginal people have with one another. The overall theme of the painting that the artist wishes to impart to the viewer is the Spiritual Connections each artist has with Art Mob and their Connecting Sprits through their art. Painted by Ros Langford in July 2003. |
