Rosalind Langford Woka 2011
Natural ochre pigment on woodblocks, MDF board & Yakka Gum varnished 1785 x 1220mm $9500
Woka is a Yorta Yorta word for earth and land. Ros has used the original wood blocks that her 2010 graduation prints were printed from as a collage.
The area around them has been carved with her totemic material and then varnished using yakka gum.
The imagery from the blocks is derived from the possum skin cloaks - the maiden punt cloak and Lake Condha
cloak as used by her mother & grandmother's people in northern Victoria - Yorta Yorta country.
