Alison Nampitjinpa Anderson Akajiri 2003
Acrylic on linen 1219 x 1219mm $3950
Akajiri is a popular bush food of the Solanum family sometimes called desert raisin or bush tomato.
This painting depicts women collecting Akajiri in Alison's country, near Papunya, Central Desert Australia. It is
also where the women perform their ceremony in which they paint their breast, chest and forearms and decorate
their bodies with feathers.
