Acrylic on canvas 1200 x 800mm $900
Tjumpuntja is Bridget's father's country located to the south west of Balgo along the Canning Stock Route.
Tjumpuntja is a series of rockholes located in amongst the Tali's or sand dunes of the Great Sandy Desert. In the
Tjukurrpa or Dreamtime this area was formed by 'Kenyu' spirit dogs that roamed up and down this part of the
desert. Bridget has depicted their tracks and also pura or bush tomatoes that grow close to the waterholes in
sandy country. At the base of the picture in each corner she paints women with their digging stick and
coolamon ready to gather the pura from the area.
