This painting depicts some of Stella's husband's country. This country is located south west of Balgo in The Great
Sandy Desert, halfway along the Canning Stock Route. This country is known as Wantilli and is near Lake
Disappointment. Stella's husbands family moved from their country when he was a little boy to get away from the
cannibals. His family headed north and ended up at the Old Balgo Mission. The central circle in the painting
represents a rockhole and the surrounding yellow,orange and ochres represent the Tali (sandhills).
