Eubena Nampitjin Wantilli 2003 Acrylic on linen 1200 x 800mm SOLD
Eubena has painted some of her traditional country, which is far to the south west of Balgo. This country is
centred around Kunawarritji (Well 33), along the middle stretches of the Canning Stock Route. Eubena would walk
through this country with her first husband before they had any children. They would travel between the tjurrnu
(soakwaters) depicted along the bottom of the painting, which are named from left to right Wantilli, Uranu,
Mamunarra, Tjuntujuntu, Ngukurkar and Walla Walla. The remainder of the painting shows the tali or sandhills
dominating this country as well as a variety of seeds in the top right corner.
