A Tjilpi (Elder Man) Robin paints, an environment map of his traditional country emerges as a work of art. The
images are simple but represent a depth and wealth of knowledge unique to a senior aboriginal man.

This painting depicts the rich vegetation associated with Walalkara in the sandhill country. On these ridges of sand
with the flat plains between, Mulga trees seed grasses, acacia bushes are plentiful, flowers and waterholes are
typical. The red borwn of the sand and almost faded greens and yellows suggest the dry summer.

Walakara is an EPA – Environmental protected area and is located approximately 60 km south of Fregon. In the
Anangu Pitjantjatjara Lands far north of South Australia.
