Tjampawa Katie Kawiny Minyma Tjuta - Many Women 2006 Acrylic on linen 760 x 760mm SOLD
In this painting Tjampawa has depicted the women out collecting bush foods. The women are represented by the
‘u’ shapes. Next to the women are their wana or digging stick and piti or large oval shaped wooden bowl used to
carry items. The nine red circles are rock holes where water collects and are a valuable source during the dry
season. Minyma translates as women.
