Rosalind Langford Initiation Ceremony 2002 Acrylic on canvas 610 x 460mm SOLD
This painting shows the initiation ceremony for William Buckley - an escaped convict who lived with the Victorian aborigines for some twenty years. The ceremony involves dances by the Yorda Yorda people and depicts the dancers imitating horses drawing a carriage. The dancers with their graceful movement are painted along the lines of the artist's father's work.
